
“How would a tiger even find a fox kit?” Lily asked quietly. Ethan crouched to her level. “We checked the footage,” he said. “That roar on Friday? That’s when she found it.”
He pointed toward the rocks near the feeding zone. “The younger tigers cornered the kit. Shira pulled it out before they could reach it.”
Caleb shook his head. “She’s been guarding it ever since.” Ethan’s voice softened. “Didn’t eat. Didn’t rest. She nearly starved protecting it.”
Lily blinked fast, her throat tight. “She’s brave,” she whispered. “The bravest I’ve ever seen,” Ethan replied, smiling faintly.
